Embassy Group spearheads its Community Outreach Programme with BL Kashyap & Sons Ltd. to upgrade Government PU College, Yelahanka

Bangalore 10th July, 2017: With an objective to empower communities through education and providing an ideal environment with better school infrastructure, Government PU College at Yelahanka was inaugurated today in the presence of Shri Tanveer Sait, Honorable Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Government of Karnataka, Shri S. R. Vishwanath, Honorable MLA Yelahanka, Shri Jitu Virwani, Chairman & Managing Director, Embassy Group and Shri. Vineet Kashyap, Managing Director, B L Kashyap & Sons Ltd. The expansion of the PU College was sponsored by Embassy Group under the Community Outreach Programme and is developed in partnership with BL Kashyap & Sons Ltd.

The Government PU College, Yelahanka currently supports 2700 students and provides a curriculum of Commerce, Science and Arts. In addition to the existing infrastructures, the school now has 10 more classrooms on the second floor. The expansion project was an urgent need to accommodate the current student population and Embassy Group took up the initiative to connect to corporate sponsors in order to widen the radius of the impact of Community Outreach Programme spearheaded by the group. As such, Embassy Group approached their long-time construction partner, BL Kashyap & Sons Ltd. to develop the project. The expansion of the college has been undertaken by Embassy Group at a cost of Rs 1.62 crores.

Speaking at the inauguration, Mr. Jitu Virwani, Chairman and Managing Director, Embassy Group said, “The inauguration of Government PU College in Yelahanka is a positive move as it strengthens our commitment to improved Education infrastructure in partnership with the state education department. Our Community Outreach Programme is focused on Education for the less privileged children. Our long-time construction partner BL Kashyap & Sons Ltd. readily agreed to develop the project when we approached them and we are very thankful to them for supporting us in empowering the community through education”.
