Embassy Office Parks Celebrates International Women’s Day
Bengaluru, 03rd March 2017: Embassy Office Parks as a part of International Women’s Day 2017 hosted a series of talks today at The Hilton, Embassy Golf Links. Taking inspiration from the theme of 2017 “Be Bold for Change”, the event hopes to inspire women of all ages and backgrounds to rise above and make the mark. In a year that has already seen millions of women marching in support of women’s rights, International Women’s Day represents an important opportunity to continue the fight for necessary change.
The event acted as a platform for various leaders across various sectors to share their experiences, both of their trials and triumphs. To look at the society at larger and speak about the changing times which we live in. Speaking at the event, Former Miss India Universe and Politician Gul Panag said, “In the past few years we have seen greater inclusion and participation of women. In fact, we have four Indian women in the most influential people in the world listed by Forbes in 2016. Indian women showed their strength in the Rio Olympics 2016 as well. There should be equal access to rights and as a woman, she should empower other women.” She also encouraged the women not to limit themselves and explore the infinite opportunities available for them.
“We have seen a progressive change in these 20 years in Urban India and it is very encouraging to see women being very successful. We at Embassy encourage women to play a pivotal role in every field they are in. The yearly editions of the leading ladies talk show is one of our small efforts we make towards inspiring women on Women’s Day” said Mike Holland, Chief Executive Office, Embassy Office Park.
There were various other distinguished personalities who delivered inspirational talks at the event. Classical dancer & cancer survivor Dr. Ananda Shankar Jayant encouraged women to chase their dreams and not to give up on their passion. She also shared her experience how her inner core strength helped her overcome the challenge life gave her with cancer.
Dr. Saundarya Rajesh, Founder Avtaar Career Creators and Mr Bharat Varadachari, Partner & India Leader, Global Compliance & Reporting, EY shared their thought on “Creating effective Flexible workplaces” while Pankaj Raj, Head of Strategy at Wells Fargo, and Patricia Cuero, Senior Director, Projects, Lowe’s spoke on the importance of female representation at all levels, removing barriers to get full participation.
The series of talks gave an inspiration to the audience present at the gathering and was well appreciated.
